Relocating the home hives

I originally planned to site three new hives just outside my home, but after a friendly chat with my lovely neighbour Alan, the plan took a very happy turn.

Alan happens to have a spare acre of beautiful wild meadow that he isn’t using—and in a moment of pure neighbourly generosity, he’s offered it up as a bee paradise, kindly letting me place as many hives there as I like.

So the bees are getting an upgrade: wide-open space, wild flowers, and no complaints about early-morning buzzing. I’ll be starting things off with three hives and two swarm catchers, with plenty of room to grow.

Proof that sometimes the best beekeeping plans begin with a good conversation in the pub 🐝🌼
